Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
What is ‘SEND’?
SEND stands for Special Educational Needs or/ and disability. As part of the Plymouth Nursery Schools Federation we believe that all children should have the opportunity to grow in self-esteem and develop towards their full potential.
We value all children no matter what their gender, race, religion, creed or ability. We aim to provide the highest quality of education and care for all the children who attend Ham Drive at whatever age. Many children develop without any need for additional support from home or school and thrive in the two Nursery's provisions.
There will be some children who, for whatever reason, may require additional support and help. We believe that by recognising this and working together with the families we can help to ensure that these children's needs are met early, giving them the best possible chance to make progress and be fulfilled. Often, early help and support is all children need to help them to thrive, however sometimes they will need ongoing support as they move through their education and life. We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to help all children and will work together with the family, other professionals and later schools to ensure the best for all our children.
